Section 7 Use of Google Analytics

  • This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, which are text files that are placed on your computer and that enable analysis of your website usage. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the United States and stored there. In case of activation of IP anonymisation on this website, Google will, however, truncate your IP address beforehand within Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity and providing the website operator with other services relating to website and Internet use.

  • The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google.

  • You may block the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser; however, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. Furthermore, you can prevent Google’s collection and use of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

  • This website uses Google Analytics with the add-on “_anonymizeIp()”. This means that IP addresses are truncated prior to processing to exclude any personal identification. Where the data collected about you permits personal identification, it is therefore excluded immediately and any personal data erased without undue delay.

  • We use Google Analytics to analyse use of our website and to improve it in regular intervals. The statistics we obtain allow us to improve our services and make them more interesting for you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the United States, Google has agreed to the terms of the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. Section 8 Use of social media plugins

  • We currently use the following social media plugins: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Xing, T3N, LinkedIn, Flattr. We use the two-click solution in this regard. This means that personal data is not transferred to the providers of these plugins when you visit our website. You can identify the plugin provider based on the marking on the box containing its first letter or logo. We give you the opportunity to communicate directly with the plugin provider by clicking on the button. The plugin provider will only receive information that you have accessed the website on our online presentation if you click on the marked field and in doing so activate it. The data listed under Section 3 of this statement is transferred as well. Facebook and Xing have stated that in Germany, the IP address is anonymised immediately after its collection. Activating the plugin means that personal data concerning you will be transferred to the individual plugin provider and stored there (so in the United States for US providers). Plugin providers mainly use cookies to collect data. We therefore advise that you access your browser’s security settings and delete all cookies before clicking on the grey box.

  • We can neither influence the collected data and data processing, nor are we aware of the full extent of data collection, the purposes of processing or the retention periods. Moreover, we do not have any information in regard to erasure of the data collected by the plugin provider.

  • The plugin provider stores the data collected about you as a user profile and uses this information for the purposes of marketing, market research and/or needs-based design of its website. This kind of analysis is performed in particular (also for users that are not signed in) to show tailored advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, although you must contact the individual plugin provider in order to exercise this right. By integrating the plugin, we allow you to interact with the social networks and other users, so that we can improve our services and make them more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for use of the plugins is Art. 6 paragraph 1 sentence 1 point f) GDPR.

  • Data transfer takes place irrespective of whether you have an account with the plugin provider and are signed in. If you are signed into your account with the plugin provider, the data collected on our website will be transferred directly and associated with your account. In the event that you click on the activated button, for instance to place a link to the page, the plugin provider will also store this information in your user account and post it to your public contacts. In general, we advise you to sign out of your social media accounts after use, especially before activating the button, as this will prevent an assignment to your account with the plugin provider.

  • For further information about the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by the plugin providers, refer to their privacy policies below: You will also obtain further information about your rights in this regard and about setting options to protect your privacy.
